Memorial Day serves to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It is an opportunity to honor and remember those who lost their lives and could not come home. It is a time to reflect on their service and why we have the luxury and freedom that we enjoy today. In so doing, we might consider how we can support their grieving families and loved ones who are left behind.
The ritual of lighting a candle in remembrance to a life ‘passed’ has long been a part of our culture. Keeping a light burning in remembrance signifies that their memory still lives. As I have personally experienced, a memorial candle is a touching way to celebrate the life of a lost loved one and to bring comfort amid a time of loss.
On behalf of the Veterans Yoga Project, an organization that I've volunteered with for past three years, I ask that you consider making a donation to their Fifth Annual Memorial Day Light A Candle Campaign. Your kind contribution will help fulfill the Veterans Yoga Project vision of extending support and resiliency to our veterans, families, and communitities.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
