Happy Memorial Day! 

I’m proud to be lighting a candle this Memorial Day for two reasons:

First, in honor of two of my uncles who died while serving our country;

James P Ryan (77) and

Arthur R. Kearney (71). 

Secondly, this campaign is the brainchild of another  family member, my cousin Dr. Danny 

Libby, founder of Veteran’s Yoga Project, a not for profit organization

that trains yoga instructors to teach yoga to returning military members and veterans 

as a way to treat PTSD and create mindful resilience as they transition out of service.

I deeply appreciate the sacrifices made by so many of my fellow citizens, most especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice 

in defense of our country. Lighting a candle and donating to VYP feels like a small measure of gratitude to honor  them and a concrete

 way to help our armed forces. Please join me and many others in showing our gratitude to our nation’s service people this Memorial Day weekend.

Memorial Day represents one day of national awareness and reverence, honoring those Americans who died while defending our freedom.

We invite you to participate in Light-A-Candle, by making a dedication to honor those who have served. This year we are partnering with A Network for Grateful Living to bring our community a unique experience of being able to light a virtual candle for your personal intention.Your gift will go directly to support recovery and resilience among our veterans, families, and communities. These programs include more than 100 free Mindful Resilience yoga classes across the USA, training scholarships and healing retreats for veterans.
