WHAT IS COMPASSION FATIGUE?
A state of exhaustion and dysfunction, physically, mentally, and emotionally, as a result of the cumulative impact of burnout, vicarious traumatic stress, and traumatic triggering, to the point where one no longer feels empathy towards patients, and others, and has nothing left to give.

If you work in an environment where you experience trauma, either first or second hand, the chances are that you will be affected by compassion fatigue.

Individuals in all of these settings are at risk for symptoms of burnout, vicarious trauma, and persistent feelings of being overwhelmed. These symptoms are not inevitable, however. Taking a mindful approach to your work can transform your relationship with your caregiving and with those you care for.

“FROM COMPASSION FATIGUE TO COMPASSION SATISFACTION”

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to complete assessments, to help you better understand how symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue might be present in your life.
